With a product range including under floor heating systems, door frames and window frames;
Rehau was asking itself a simple question: “How do we fit into the smart, connected home of tomorrow?”
To tackle this ambitious project, we used a comprehensive work process going from insights to actions that effectively addressed each element of this complex equation.
We started by looking at the customer perspective, conducting ethnographic research to understand the role of technology in the home and tomorrow and identify key unanswered needs that could be addressed by Rehau smart technologies.
Based on these insights and on a thorough technology and macro trends review, we developed different scenarios for Rehau’s smart home development that addressed different opportunities and centered on different verticals.
We then translated the chosen scenario into product concepts for Rehau smart home and gauged their market potential through agile consumer testing before taking the chosen concept to market.
